What is Random Number Generator?
A random number generator picks values unpredictably within rules you set: an integer between 1 and 100, six unique lottery numbers, a dice roll. The quality that matters is unpredictability — this tool uses your browser's cryptographic random source rather than a predictable pseudo-random shortcut.
Modes cover the everyday needs: a single range draw, N unique values without repeats (for raffles and draws), weighted dice (d4–d20), and a shuffle that randomizes the order of a list you paste in. Everything runs locally, instantly, and as often as you like.
How to use it
- 1Pick a mode: range, unique set, dice or shuffle.
- 2Set the parameters (min, max, how many, allow repeats or not).
- 3Click Generate — each click is an independent fresh draw.
- 4Copy the result or keep clicking for more draws.
Common use cases
- Running a fair raffle or giveaway draw from numbered entries.
- Picking who goes first, or sampling a random row for a spot check.
- Tabletop gaming dice replacement with proper d20 rolls.
Frequently asked questions
▸How random is it, really?
It draws from crypto.getRandomValues(), a CSPRNG seeded by the operating system — the same class of randomness used for session keys. For games, draws and sampling this is as fair as it gets on a consumer device.
▸Can I draw unique numbers only?
Yes — the unique-set mode samples without replacement, guaranteeing no repeats within one draw, like lottery balls drawn from a drum.
