What is Random Picker?
A random picker draws one or more entries from any list you paste: names for a giveaway, students for presentation order, servers for a smoke test. Fairness comes from your browser's cryptographic RNG, not a cycle-counting trick.
Besides drawing winners it can shuffle the full list (Fisher-Yates, the standard unbiased algorithm) and remove picked entries so the same name cannot win twice. Rerunning with 'remove after pick' gives you a proper tournament order for anything from classroom turns to code review queues.
How to use it
- 1Paste your list, one entry per line.
- 2Set how many winners to draw and whether picks should be removed.
- 3Click pick — winners are highlighted instantly.
- 4Use shuffle mode to randomize the entire list order.
Common use cases
- Running transparent giveaways where you can show the method was fair.
- Randomizing presentation or review order for a team.
- Picking test cases from a large suite for a spot-check round.
Frequently asked questions
▸Can the same entry win twice?
Not if removal is enabled — each picked entry leaves the pool. Disable removal if you want independent draws with replacement.
▸Is the draw auditable?
Each run uses fresh cryptographic randomness with no hidden seed or weighting, so any observer rerunning the method accepts the outcome.
